For most of its long history, acupuncture has been a community based medicine. In Asia, acupuncture treatments are traditionally provided in community environments. Frequent, regular treatments make acupuncture most effective. As acupuncture moved into our mainstream healthcare system, one-on-one treatments, usually with high prices, have become the norm. This has not only decreased patient access to acupuncture, but also treatment efficacy.
West End Community Acupuncture is part of a growing movement of acupuncture clinics returning to the community spirit of acupuncture treatment in order to make acupuncture accessible to all members of its community.
The sliding scale is designed so you decide how much to pay.

Had an awesome women's day gathering for women on 8 March 2016 for #IWD2016. Facilitated my first ever workshop and held space for 7 other women. All women participated fearlessly, sharing vulnerabilities and strengths - inspiring each other onwards.
When women get together with a collective intention, magic really does happen! And I truly feel that this is true for men as well - COLLECTIVE INTENTION IS MAGIC!
More of this to come.
Whether you're a man or woman - leadership starts where you are. We all have a natural leader inside each of us, and it is up to us individually to wake this leader and bring her/him forward and take responsibility for the things and circumstances in our lives that we wish to change - and if we come to a point where we learn we cannot change these, then we can most certainly change our attitude, energy and reactions towards it.
"Things don’t always turn out as planned, but quite often it can turn out to be a blessing."
Time reached 10:15am on Saturday, 9 August 2014 and I was anxious to get things started, before realising - it was indeed, Saturday morning. Apart from practitioners, our friends and family and of course, yours truly - who in their right mind would be as excited as us about being on time to an Open Day on a Saturday morning?
Improvisation is a beautiful thing :-)
Slowly, visitors arrived at the Centre - not by the masses - but a gentle, steady flow of people from the community. Little people (and big people) had their faces painted by local artist and musician, Nika Nemirovsky - accompanied by serene acoustic guitar sounds by Matty Witney.
Gold coin donations were offered in exchange for appointments with practitioners, which were filled back-to-back the entire day! We raised $51 for MICAH Projects. West End Natural Therapies will match that and bring the total for donation to $102. May it be of some benefit to those in need.
I would like to personally thank each and every person who helped make Open Day as pleasant and lovely as it were - bare with me, I am about to name everyone....
To all practitioners at the clinic, who worked so very hard on the day with back to back appointments - Camilla (Homeopath), Gael (Mind Body Wellness Coach), Connie (Kinesiologist) and Alexis (Remedial Massage Therapist) - it's an honour to work alongside such dedicated practitioners; To the ones scheduled to give a short talk - Jeniece (MICAH Projects), Iris (Yoga Teacher) and Jon (Counsellor) - really appreciate the time you spent in preparation and your good intentions. To Nika and Matt - so very grateful for your artistic contributions. To our kind volunteers, Katina and Cheyenne - thank you for your time. To family and friends, special mention to Mum, Dad, Warren, Geoff, Lulu, Beata, and Finlay - who in various ways supported the building of this Centre from the ground up - I am eternally grateful. And to all who attended to check out what it is we do here - hope to see you all again.
If you missed the official open day - you are welcome anytime - happy to show you around the Centre and introduce you to the wonderful practitioners here.
